For decades practicing as a surgeon, I have often heard a question filled with despair from patients: “Doctor, do I have to take this medication for the rest of my life?” “Doctor, can my damaged kidney never recover again?”
In the old conventional medical paradigm, the honest answer was often painful: “Yes, we can only maintain what remains.” It was a palliative approach managing damage, not repairing it.
