Acura Integra Type S Wins Prestigious 2024 Road & Track Performance Car Of The Year Award

The Acura Integra Type S won the prestigious award, namely the 2024 Road & Track Performance Car Of The Year Award for the price category under US$100,000. The Acura Integra Type S has high performance and dynamics so it can outperform rear wheel drive coupes which are more expensive.

This award adds to the series of prestigious awards that the Acura Integra Type S has received, namely the 2023 North American Car of the YearTM and 2024 Car and Driver 10Best Cars awards. Apart from that, this award is the second time for Acura after winning the same award in 2017.

Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President, Acura National Sales said, “We build Acura performance cars for driving enthusiasts, and it is an honor for us that our Integra Type S was recognized with the Road & Track Performance Car of the Year award. We are extremely proud of our development team in Japan and the production workers at our plant in Marysville, Ohio, who have created a truly extraordinary performance vehicle like the Integra Type S.”

Acura Integra Type S presents an experience in the form of engine performance with 320 horsepower and manual transmission in its class. Since its return to the Acura lineup for 2023, it has quickly become the best-selling model in the premium sport compact segment and now accounts for nearly 40% of sales in its class. Sales of this model exceeded 2,000 units for 15 consecutive months until December 2023, with the Acura Integra Type S contributing around 10% of cumulative sales since it was first distributed in June 2023.

The criteria for the vehicle selected for the Road & Track Performance Car of the Year is a vehicle that will be sold/mass produced in 2024. The selected vehicle is then tested for four days on the highway and racing circuit. Testing on the racing circuit was carried out at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California and lasted for two days with a track length of 2 miles. Then the vehicle will be tested to explore the roads in Napa Valley in Northern California.

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is produced exclusively at the Marysville Automotive Plant in Marysville, Ohio, on the same production line as the Acura TLX and TLX Type S models. The Acura Integra Type S uses a K20C engine produced exclusively at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, which also produces the V6 turbo engine which powers the Acura TLX Type S and MDX Type S.

Acura is a leading automotive brand committed to delivering expressive, innovative and high-performance designs. The Acura line consists of two sports sedans, namely the Integra and TLX, and three SUVs, namely the RDX, MDX and ZDX, which are electric. All Acura vehicles are sold and built in the United States and use domestic and global parts.
