PT Pindad (Persero), which is a defense industry company owned by a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN), has indeed been producing Maung Operational Unit (Ranops) vehicles for a long time.
In fact, according to President Ri Joko Widodo, what Pindad has made in Malang, East Java, is that currently there is an increasing demand for exports of defense products.
"Demand from the export market for these products has increased very sharply," said the president who is familiarly called Jokowi.

It is not yet clear, but in line with Jokowi's statement, SOE Minister Erick Tohir also stated that according to the President's instructions, Indonesia's defense industry has good prospects.
"For this reason, the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Defense are ready to collaborate, partner with potential partners to increase exports," he said.
Jokowi Takes the Ranops Pindad Maung Car
Apart from the plan for Pindad's products to be exported, some time ago Jokowi accompanied by his wife came to Pindad along with Erick Tohir and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to try out Pindad Maung at the PT Pindad complex, Malang, East Java.
It is known that this car is the latest version that was inaugurated by Jokowo in early 2023. So, a few things you need to know about Pindad Maung, namely.
1. Latest Models
It is known that Maung, driven by Jokowi and Erick Tohir, is the latest version or the third generation. This tactical vehicle measures 4,931 mm in length, 1,640 mm in width, 1,820 mm in height, and 3,090 mm in wheelbase.
With these dimensions, the car can accommodate four personnel, just like Jokowi and his wife sitting in the back, Prabowo and Erick are in the front.
2. Soft Top Type
When tested, the driver and passengers can be seen from the outside because this tactical vehicle is actually a soft top version, which also has a door model that can also be customized so that it only looks like a frame.
However, this car also has a hard top version, so the entire roof is covered with panels made of strong material.
3. Can be mounted weapons
Maung, it turns out that the weapons produced by Pindad can also be installed. The reason is, this tactical vehicle is equipped with a 7.62 mm gun bracket, and an SS2-V4 weapon console. Apart from that, this car also has GPRS Navigation, Tracker and other equipment such as Hi-Lift Jack, 4.5 ton Winch, light extinguisher, and many others.
