Ferrari Reopens Purosangue SUV Orders, Units Will Be Sent to Consumers Immediately

Ferrari has opened orders for its newest SUV, the Purosangue. Previously, the manufacturer with the prancing horse logo temporarily stopped ordering Purosangue after the number of enthusiasts for this SUV exploded.

"Our order book has been extended to 2025 with an award-winning product portfolio," said Ferrari Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna, quoted from the Reuters website today, Friday, May 5, 2023.

Ferrari said the 12-cylinder SUV will be delivered to customers in the first quarter of this year. The company is also determined to keep Purosangue sales below 20 percent of total shipments as long as this car is marketed.

This year, Ferrari plans to launch four new models after launching the Roma Spider in March. As for electric cars, Ferrari plans to launch its electrification product in 2025.

Ferrari Profits Soar

Ferrari announced a larger-than-expected 27 percent increase in first-quarter core profit. The Italian manufacturer also expects strong second-quarter growth when deliveries of the new Purosangue model begin. Ferrari claims that the SUV is in great demand by consumers and orders are being extended until 2026.

The Italian luxury sports car maker said it was reopening orders for the four-door, four-seater Purosangue, which had been suspended due to a surge in demand when it was introduced.

CEO Benedetto Vigna said Ferrari's overall order book covers production through the end of 2025. But those customers who are now ordering the 12-cylinder petrol-powered Purosangue for 390,000 euros will have to wait until 2026 to receive it.

"We were surprised by the positive surprise of this strong interest," Vigna said.

But the CEO reiterated Ferrari's promise to keep Purosangue sales under 20 per cent of the group's total shipments over the car's life cycle and not extend it, to maintain a level of exclusivity.
