Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Revive Using Electric Power

Early January 2023 Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) removed the 4A-GE engine from the legendary Toyota AE86 car and replaced it with an electric motor. Following in the footsteps of the three oval manufacturers, it is known that Nissan is also preparing to convert an electric vehicle to one of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 high-performance cars.

This news is even stronger when the first teaser video for the prospective R32 electric car is displayed on the Nissan Motor CO., Ltd. YouTube channel.

It is known that the project was born because one of Nissan Japan's engineers admired the figure of the R32 GT-R. That way so that it can be used in the future, his party wants to change it to electrical energy. “I wanted to make a more attractive car. With the addition of the latest electrical technology to my favorite car," said the Nissan engineer.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 EV is based on the Nissan Ariya

The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 EV project is based on the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE. The technology in the electric crossover is completely applied to this car with all the adjustments without having to remove the GT-R DNA which carries the nickname Godzilla.

The R32 itself basically uses ATTESA ET-S four-wheel drive. For this reason, engineers also launched the all-wheel drive e-4ORCE on the Ariya for this legendary car. Looking at the specifications, Ariya can generate power of 218 to 394 PS. The torque produced by the electric motor reaches 300 - 600 Nm. The Nissan Ariya is also available in 65 kWh and 90 kWh electric motor variants.

Acceleration from 0 km/h to 100 km/h can be completed in just 5.1 seconds. Regarding the distance, when the battery is fully charged it can run up to 610 Kilometers.

Maybe for those of you who don't know, the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 is equipped with an RB26DETT 2.6-liter twin-turbo straight-six 24 valve engine that can generate a power of 280 hp and a maximum torque of 353 Nm with a 5-speed manual transmission. This pacemaker is the target of automotive activists, both used for drift races and drag races.
