Geely has just launched the Cao Cao 60. This is an electric car from Geely's newest sub-brand, Cao Cao Auto. There are many interesting things about this Chinese electric car that are quite different from other EVs.
Priced starting at 119,800 yuan or roughly the equivalent of Rp. 260 million, the Cao Cao 60 is equipped with a swappable battery, aka it can be removed. And for the battery's ability in the CLTC test, it can shoot up to 415 km in one use.
Replace the Cao Cao 60 Battery in Just 60 Seconds
Geely appointed their battery manufacturer Maple to produce the Cao Cao battery. The battery is claimed to have a durability of up to 600,000 km. To be uninstalled, this battery only takes 60 seconds. This capability is more than the battery swap capability from Nio which takes 3 minutes.
A crossover type, the Cao 60 is claimed to be suitable for daily mobility use, up to weekend trips. Another unique thing, this car is also equipped with an "anti-drunk" feature so that it can add to the comfort of its passengers.
There are monitors in the front and rear seats
In terms of facade, the Cao Cao 60 isn't much special compared to other Chinese electric cars. The front comes with a closed grille and bumper, typical of an EV that doesn't require air intake from the front.
The side body looks quite sturdy with a sloping roof. The wheel model also still resembles a turbine like most EVs. For rear view the glass design looks higher. The left and right lights are garnished together. The rear bumper also looks closed, just like the front.
As for the cabin, it also looks simple. The dashboard layout is made flat without any excessive curves. What is unique, the manufacturer places two LCD monitors, one in the center of the dashboard, the other behind the front passenger's backrest. Oh yes, for the rear passengers there is also a folding table.
Do you think there will be more electric cars that will use swap batteries?
