The presence of Daihatsu Rocky in Indonesia has successfully hypnotized automotive lovers to ask for her hand. This is because the latest generation of Daihatsu Rocky appears more modern with the support of the latest features in it.
Since its launch in April 2021, sales of Daihatsu Rocky have continued to increase. In fact, in semester 1 2022, Daihatsu Rocky's market share increased to 31.8 percent from the final position in 2021 which was 23.44 percent.
At its peak, there were 9,255 units of Daihatsu Rocky which were successfully sold during January-December 2022. This achievement cannot be separated from the features and performance of Daihatsu Rocky. Carrying the concept of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a 5-passenger capacity, Daihatsu Rocky is built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform.
For dimensions, this car has a length of 4,030 millimeters (mm), a width of 1,710 mm and a height of 1,635 mm. Supported by a wheelbase of 2,525 mm and a ground clearance of 200 mm.
The exterior of the Daihatsu Rocky is no less special. The trapezoidal grille at the front which is the new face of today's Toyota has embraced it. The main lights have used LEDs. The LED light is also used as the rear combination light.
As a vehicle aimed at young consumers, Daihatsu Rocky has an exterior that is equipped with body kit accessories for the Astra Daihatsu Styling (ADS) type. For example, front skid plate, rear skid plate, side body molding complete with ADS emblem and silver side stone guard.
On the roof is a shark fin antenna and there is a rear spoiler with an LED high mount stop lamp. Meanwhile, adding to the safety factor while driving, the reverse sensor and parking camera are embedded in the rear bumper, whose visuals are displayed on a 9-inch multimedia system in the cabin.
Interiors
Daihatsu Rocky is designed like an airplane cockpit. That is, the driver's seat and passenger seat are separated by the center console. Meanwhile, the center of the dashboard is made towards the driver.
This driver-oriented design aims to make it easier for drivers to access the multimedia system and air conditioner (AC) settings. In addition, the steering wheel is equipped with a phone and audio steering switch for setting the multimedia system and Multi Information Display (MID).
Then, setting the AC with a modern button is equipped with a digital indicator panel. Next to the digital AC panel there is a Start-Stop button to turn on and turn off the engine.
Interestingly, Daihatsu Rocky has a 9-inch touch screen multimedia system that supports smartphone connections. For audio, Daihatsu Rocky has 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and an 8-inch active subwoofer.
In addition, to support the active daily life of Daihatsu Rocky owners, there is a phone charger and power socket on the center console. The cabin interior material is also covered with soft touch material in several parts. The seat pads are also designed with sporty motifs complete with red stitching line accents.
Safety Features
Daihatsu Rocky has been equipped with advanced safety features, namely the Daihatsu Advanced Safety Assist (ASA). This feature works by using a sensor on the stereo camera on the windshield which can detect objects, then gives a warning if the car is in potential danger.
The ASA feature has six functions, namely Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Pedal Misoperation Control, Front Departure Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Departure Prevention.
In addition, Rocky is equipped with a rear parking camera and back sonar which can help the driver's visibility to be safer when parking or reversing.
Daihatsu Rocky is also equipped with SRS Airbags for driver and passenger, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
Performance
Continuing with the kitchen spur, Daihatsu Rocky offers two engine options, namely 1,000 cc turbo and 1,200 cc without turbo. The 1,000 cc turbo engine is claimed to be capable of producing a maximum power of 95 hp and a peak torque of 147 Nm.
Meanwhile, the 1,200 cc engine variant is capable of spewing out 87 hp of power and a maximum torque of 112.7 Nm. This engine is coupled with a manual transmission and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which is channeled to the front wheels, aka Front Wheel Drive (FWD).
The body colors offered are also very diverse. Two tone and monotone themes are available. The colors to choose from include Campagno Red, Icy White, Shining Pearl White, Classic Silver Metallic, Dark Gray Metallic, Ultra Black Solid, and Yellow Metallic.
