Ferrari 296 GTS Open Roof Slides Fit for the Rich

PT. Eurokars Prima Utama as the official distributor of Ferrari in Indonesia again presents a special car for the rich in Indonesia, namely the Ferrari 296 GTS.

Yes, the Ferrari 296 GTS is indeed still a sibling with the 296 GTB which has already launched in Indonesia. It's just that the latest 296 GTS carries a convertible or open roof version, while the 296 GTB is a coupe version.

According to the General Manager of PT Eurokars Prima Utama, Nini Chiandra, the presence of the Ferrari 296 GTS in Indonesia cannot be separated from the positive response from consumers who love Ferrari.

"In July we released the 296 GTB, and received a positive response, and some consumers wanted the Coupe and convertible models. Yes, it depends on taste," said Nini at the launch of the Ferrari 296 GTS at the Jakarta Ferrari dealer, Jalan Proklamasi 36A, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/2/2023).

The open roof on this car or Retractable Hardtop (RHT) ensures passenger comfort, and the open roof has a design that is very similar to the 296 GTB silhouette. Meanwhile, to open and close the RHT, it only takes at least 14 seconds to pull or open the roof at speeds of up to 45 km per hour.

Ferrari 296 GTS 2023 price

The presence of the Ferrari 296 GTS certainly invites curiosity for automotive lovers or those who crave this Italian-made car.

So how much is the 296 GTS for the Indonesian market? "Definitely higher than the previous one (Ferrari 296 GTB). Because convertibles are definitely a little more expensive," said Nini. Yes, Nini did not want to comment on the price. Because according to him, Ferrari consumers usually do custom, so that one type of Ferrari car, but the details will definitely vary from one consumer to another.

However, according to Wapcar, in Malaysia, the price of the Ferrari 296 GTB is priced at 1,228,000 ringgit or around IDR 4.3 billion. Meanwhile, for the 296 GTS variant, 1,448,000 ringgit was released or the equivalent of IDR 5.1 billion. So, to enter Indonesia, it is likely that the price will be more expensive or it could be cheaper because each country has a different tax base.

Performance of the Ferrari 296 GTS

The special thing about a Ferrari is not just the design, but also the embedded performance. Including the 296 GTS, which in fact is still the same as the engine packed on the 296 GTB.

As for the heart of the car with the prancing horse logo, this one is a six-cylinder or V6 engine coupled with Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Turbo Dry Sump technology, which is capable of spewing 830 Tk of power at 6,250-8,250 Rpm and 740 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm.

On paper, with power channeled to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission, this car can accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in just 2.5 seconds and the top speed can reach 330 km per hour.

The function of the PHEV technology in this car is that the car can travel with electric power up to 25 kilometers and the car's speed can reach 120 km per hour. The technology embedded in the 296 GTS is energy regeneration or using MGU-K (motor generator unit - kinetic) adopted from Formula 1.
