Along with the appearance of the UX facelift last May, the Lexus UX 300e 2023 is now getting several changes. This Lexus makes it even more relevant in today's electric car competition.
Even though it was announced this October, the press release stated that the facelifted Lexus UX 300e will only be delivered to consumers in spring 2023 or around March-June 2023.
Even though it's a facelift, the general appearance is still exactly the same as the initial version that was launched two years ago. Lexus does focus on changes to this electric SUV on the technical side, especially regarding the battery which is the most crucial component.
Bigger Battery Capacity
If previously the battery used in the Lexus UX 300e had a capacity of 54.4 kWh, in this latest version it is now made bigger to 72.8 kWh. As a result, the mileage of this electric SUV is 40 percent longer than before, reaching 450 km to be precise.
This figure makes the Lexus UX 300e 2023 now on par with some of the latest electric cars that record equivalent battery capacity and mileage. Meanwhile, the UX 300e uses an electric motor with 203 PS and 300 Nm of torque, and its energy consumption is claimed to reach 166.7 Wh/km or the equivalent of 6 km/kWh.
The interior is also polished
Not only regarding the battery, Lexus has also improved the component system on the UX 300e including electric power steering (EPS), shock absorbers, and other components. There are even 20 point welds added to the body openings on the side and rear doors.
Apart from technical matters, the UX 300e also gets a head unit with a larger screen size of up to 12.3 inches. This head unit can also display Android Auto and Apple Carplay features, then can operate the internet and update software through the Data Communication Module (DCM).
The Lexus Safety System+ feature on the UX 300e has also been improved, one of which is the Pre-Collision System feature which is now able to detect cyclists in the morning and pedestrians at night. Users can also turn on, lock and unlock this car via the Digital Key on the smartphone.
