Suzuki Fronx 2023 Debuts in India, Baleno Crossover Version, Rival Rocky-Raize

Apart from the 5-door Jimny, the Suzuki Fronx 2023 was also officially launched at the India Auto Expo 2023 exhibition. Together with Suzuki Brezza, Fronx will fill the sub 4-meter SUV segment in India which has already been filled with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and others.

Even though the same base as the Baleno hatchback, it seems that Suzuki really intends to design the Fronx body into a different car. Compared to its rivals, it also appears with a sloping body like a coupe SUV.

Suzuki Fronx 2023 Exterior

The exterior of the Fronx looks quite different compared to the Baleno. You can see the large grille along with the cascading lights which are even reminiscent of the latest Grand Vitara that has already been launched.

On the side, Fronx also has a side mirror which is also owned by the Baleno. However, it has a much more attractive and dashing design line than the Baleno which tends to be rounded.

While at the back, it looks flatter due to the sloping roof. Fronx dimensions are also not much different from Baleno. This crossover is 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,550 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm.

Meanwhile, the Baleno hatchback is 3,990 mm long, 1,745 mm wide, 1,485 mm high, and the wheelbase is exactly the same, namely 2,520 mm. This means that the Fronx is only 5 mm longer, 20 mm wider and 65 mm higher than the hatchback version.

The interior is still similar to the Suzuki Baleno

Even though from the outside it has a thicker SUV feel, the Baleno hatchback aura is still very much felt in the interior. The dashboard still looks the same except for the thick silver V-shaped panel that gives it its own identity.

The black and red color combination brings a sporty and luxurious impression to the Fronx interior. Features embedded in Fronx include LED multireflector headlamp, DRL, 9-inch touchscreen head unit, wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay, cruise control, head up display, wireless charging, paddle shift, sound system from ARKAMYS, 6 airbags, ESP , hill hold control, as well as Suzuki Connect telematics features.

There are 2 Machine Options

Fronx is equipped with two engine options, namely the 1.0-liter Boosterjet with a power output of 100 PS and 148 Nm of torque. The second engine is a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter with 90 PS of torque of 113 Nm.

Both of these engines are combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, while specifically for the turbo engine there is also a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the NA engine with AGS transmission.

There are several types of Fronx presented in India, namely Sigma 1.2L MT, Delta 1.2L MT/AMT, Delta+ 1.2L MT/AMT, Delta+ 1.0L Turbo MT, Zeta 1.0L Turbo MT/AT, and Alpha 1.0L Turbo MT/AT . Just like Jimny, Fronx will also be marketed at Nexa, the premium showroom of Maruti Suzuki.
