Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings is a British car manufacturer. This company is famous for producing luxury sports cars and grand tourers. This renowned car manufacturer was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The first car Lionel Martin built was a four-cylinder Coventry-Simplex engine, which used a 1908 Isotta Fraschini chassis.
Starting in 1947, the company was led by David Brown. This company also began to be known as a maker of luxury grand tourer cars in the 1950s and 1960s. Their fame then exploded when James Bond used the Aston Martin DB5 car model in the film Goldfinger which was released in 1964. The cars made by Aston Martin were then considered British cultural icons.

In 2013, Aston Martin then formed a partnership with Daimler AG, to supply Mercedes-AMG engines that will be used in Aston Martin cars. This partnership itself aims to support the release of the latest generation of Aston Martin models which will use the latest technology and engines.
The first car model to use technology from Mercedes-Benz was the Aston Martin DB11, which was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016. This car uses Mercedes-Benz technology for entertainment features, navigation and various other systems. In addition, the 2018 Aston Martin V8 Vantage model, which was introduced at the end of 2017, also uses a V8 engine equipped with twin-turbochargers and an infotainment system from Mercedes-Benz.
In August 2017, a 1956 Aston Martin DBR1/1 was sold at a Sotheby's auction held at the Pebble Beach, California Concours d'Elegance for USD 22,550,000. The fantastic price tag makes this car crowned as the most expensive British car ever sold at an auction. This car has been driven by Carroll Shelby and Stirling Moss.
