To support this step, Honda Motor Co., Ltd (Honda) recently announced a collaboration with GS Yuasa International Ltd (GS Yuasa) to develop lithium batteries with large power and capacity for Honda's electric cars later.
It is planned that Honda and GS Yuasa will establish a new company as a form of cooperation at the end of 2023.

Honda and GS Yuasa have entered into a partnership on the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), and this new collaboration will further accelerate Honda's electrification strategy. towards achieving Honda's goal of carbon neutrality," said Toshihiro Mibe, Director, President and Representative Executive Officer of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. through the official statement.
The company, which is the result of a collaboration between Honda and GS Yuasa, is later expected to be able to meet the growing supply and demand for electric car batteries.
Not only that, in the future this collaboration company will become a place for research and development that will produce electric car batteries with large power and capacity. On the other hand, this company has a goal of building a more efficient battery production system.
