BMW Wants to Make a Pickup Truck Based on the X7

BMW Wants to Make a Pickup?

The BMW Pickup is something that is talked about quite often. Moreover, some BMW users are willing to change the 3 Series, 5 Series to the M3 to be replaced by the rear into an open pick-up vehicle.

But will the BMW pickup truck really be realized? Adrian van Hooydonk also emphasized the commitment of this Germany-based company. According to him, BMW will never make a pick-up truck.

“We don't have to follow every new trend that is happening. What is clear is that it doesn't suit the BMW brand,” said the Senior Vice President of BMW Group Design, quoted from Autohome, Wednesday (01/02/2023).

BMW Pickup Truck Based on X7

Even though it is certain that the manufacturer will never make a pickup, BMW has actually released an official picture of a pickup truck. This car is also called the BMW X7 Pickup Truck which is based on the BMW X7 model.

The company claims that this car was developed by a group of professionals at the BMW Group in collaboration with the engineering department at the BMW Munich factory. But unfortunately the car did not really appear en masse.

Still, it's interesting to think back to this BMW-style dream pickup. Clad in wild purplish blue, the front face still has the strong feel of the X7. Including the large Kidney Grille design, the main lights, to the bumper.

The design line of the side of the car down to the A and B pillars also still characterizes the X7. However, for the rear, it was removed and converted into a cargo tub.

To keep it looking premium, the rear compartment has a floor made of polished wood. BMW even simulated that the pickup could carry one unit of the BMW F 850 GS.
