Gelly's electric car division, Zeekr will launch its premium electric MPV, the 009, in early November. Built using the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform specifically for Geely electric vehicles (EV), the Zeekr 009 offers a myriad of luxuries like the Toyota Alphard.
Designed by former Audi and Mercedes Benz designer Stefan Sielaff, the Zeekr 009 looks so modern and prestigious in form. Now serving as VP Global Design at Geely Auto Group, Sielaff explained that the exterior shape of the electric MPV was inspired by the light and shadows in the morning that illuminate the architecture of high-rise buildings, embracing the design concept of The Cruise of Morning Light.
As can be seen from its face, the center of the front is embedded with a large chrome panel with LED headlights that seem so attractive and sophisticated, known as Sielaff The Spring of Light.
On the interior side, Sielaff and his team created a penthouse-like space that looks so exclusive. The dashboard display itself takes inspiration from Chinese gardens and water elements.
Can Cover a Distance of 700 Km, the dimensions of the Zeekr 009 are larger than the Toyota Alphard
Not only the platform, it was informed that the Zeekr 009 will also have the same technical specifications as the Zeekr 001, an electric car in the form of a shooting brake. So Zeekr will use a battery with a capacity of 100 kWh which has a range of up to 700 km based on NEDC calculations.
To drive the electric MPV, Zeekr has embedded a dual motor drivetrain, each of which has an output of 276 PS on the 009. When combined, the output produced by the two electric motors reaches 542 PS. Zeekr himself claims that the 009 can run up to 190 km/hour.
Talking about the dimensions, the Zeekr 009 has a length of 5,209 mm, a width of 2,024 mm, a height of 1,856 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,205 mm. When compared to the Toyota Alphard, the Zeekr 009 is 264 mm longer and 174 mm wider. Likewise, the Zeekr 009's wheelbase is also 205 mm longer than the Toyota Alphard.
