After being confirmed to debut in the near future, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has just revealed the official launch date of the All New Honda SUV RS.
This compact all-body SUV will be released on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. The launch of this car in Indonesia is also the time for its debut globally, or world premiere.
As one of the leading brands in the world, Honda always innovates and develops the latest technology in every car variant it owns. Entering the fourth quarter of 2022, PT Honda Prospect Motor is preparing to hold a world premiere for Honda's newest car.
The announcement of the debut date is in line with the progress of testing and the Honda SUV RS Road Show event. This car has been road tested since last September, while the SUV RS Road Show ended at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) Medan 2022 yesterday.
"The final check by conducting a public road test for our Small SUV model was completed at the end of last September," said Yusak Billy, Business Innovation and Sales & Marketing Director of PT HPM.
The official form of the Honda SUV RS is still a mystery, considering that this car is still covered in tight camouflage. The photo of the Honda SUV RS on the highway was snapped by the Instagram account @aldo.prtm some time ago.
The body shape of this RS SUV looks different from the concept version. The RS Concept SUV, which is often brought to various places, tends to have a sharp all-round design.
While the body shape of the RS SUV caught on camera has a more rounded shape and may take part from various other Honda cars.
The front fascia of this car looks sporty with flat LED headlights and a dotted “RS” style grille. Beneath it lies the fog lamps with a triangular housing and small black line accents inside.
The sides and rear continue the same concept, through the use of a two-tone black roof and flat LED taillights. This image also follows a detailed spy shot, where the second line of doorknobs is behind the glass.
As a complement, this car uses black flower rims, black mirrors, shark fin antenna, there is a small spoiler on the trunk door, has underguards in front and rear, and is attached with the RS logo.
The Honda SUV RS is predicted to carry the same platform as the Honda BR-V. This was revealed in the registration of Honda's newest car on the DKI Jakarta Samsat website.
In the Honda Minibus segment number 12 to 16, the cars listed have the codes DG47 and DG48. This code is similar to the latest Honda BR-V, namely DG31. Each model also gets a “1.5” engine, available with a choice of E and RS models, as well as a manual or CVT transmission option.
Thus, the Honda SUV RS is predicted to carry a 1.500cc naturally aspirated VTEC DOHC engine with a burst of 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. All power is channeled to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or CVT.
