PT Honda Prospect Motor received awards for its two products, namely the All New Honda HR-V and All New Honda BR-V which achieved the highest safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) program. The award was presented by representatives of NCAP & MIROS (Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research), October 15, 2022, in Nusa Dua, Bali.
ASEAN NCAP is an assessment program for new cars in Southeast Asia. The program aims to evaluate vehicle safety standards, increase consumer awareness, and drive the market for safer vehicles in the ASEAN region. The crash test is a form of collaboration between ASEAN NCAP and the Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI). In general, testing should be carried out after mass production of the model has begun.
The Frontal Offset Impact test was carried out using a crash test dummy in the driver's and front passenger's seats and two child dolls on the Child Restraint System (CRS) in the back seat. The crash test speed was 64 km/h when it hit a collapsible aluminum collision barrier. In addition, a Side Impact Test was also carried out, carried out by installing a crash test dummy in the driver's seat and two child dolls on the Child Restraint System (CRS) in the back seat. MDB (Moving Deformable Barrier) approaches the situationally tested car. The test speed is 50 km/h.

The All New Honda HR-V and All New Honda BR-V are the two newest products from Honda that have won the highest safety rating of five (5) stars from the ASEAN NCAP program. The All New Honda HR-V managed to achieve a total score of 81.38 out of 100. The All New Honda HR-V was first introduced in the Southeast Asian region in November 2021. In Indonesia, this model was launched on March 23, 2022. Until now, the All New Honda HR-V has been sold in nine (9) countries in the ASEAN region with a total cumulative sales of more than 25,000 units.
Another Honda SUV model, the All New Honda BR-V, won a total score of 77.02 out of 100. The second generation All New Honda BR-V was first launched in Indonesia in September 2021 and went on sale in January 2022. This product was then exported to Indonesia. various countries since March 2022 to countries in the Caribbean islands, then Thailand and South Africa as many as 2,671 units until the end of September 2022.
Both Honda SUV models have been equipped with Honda SENSING technology, which is an advanced technology to guide the driving system. This system uses a front wide view camera which is located on the inside of the car's windshield to provide alertness in driving conditions to conditions around vehicles such as cars, motorcycles and pedestrians. This technology also provides warnings and supports drivers in avoiding and reducing the risk of accidents*.
Both Honda SUV models are also equipped with various other high-level safety features such as; Honda LaneWatch, Multi-angle Rearview Camera, Walk Away Auto Lock, Front Passenger & Rear Seat Belt Reminder, and Rear Seat Reminder.
Honda Achievements in ASEAN NCAP
In January 2022, Honda won six awards to coincide with the 10th anniversary of ASEAN NCAP. Honda managed to get prestigious awards in the form of; The Most 5-Star Car 2012-2016 (Adult Occupant Protection) and Best Road Safety Partner for the Honda brand.
Then the Best Forward Facing Child Occupant Protection 2017-2020 award for the Honda Accord, the Safety Technology Award for the All New Honda Civic, the Excellent Award – Consistent 5-Star for the third to fifth generation Honda City sedan and the ninth to eleventh generation Honda Civic.
Honda has been the automotive manufacturer that has received the most awards from ASEAN NCAP for the past ten years. From 2012 to 2022, nine Honda car models have been tested for safety by the ASEAN NCAP, namely; Honda City, Civic, CR-V, Jazz, HR-V, BR-V, Brio, Brio Amaze and Accord.
