The first mass-produced battery electric vehicle (BEV), the All New Toyota bZ4X, was officially launched to complement electrification technology choices in Indonesia. At the same time realizing Toyota's commitment to presenting complete environmentally friendly solutions for the various needs of society.
"In line with the Mobility for All commitment, we complement the existing electrification technology options with the All New bZ4X as the first Toyota Battery EV product to be marketed to customers in Indonesia," said President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Susumu Matsuda.
"The All New bZ4X is a form of realizing Toyota's vision of presenting a better car as a means of community mobility that is free of pollution and environmentally friendly," he continued. Toyota's commitment to electrification of vehicles cannot be separated from efforts to fully support the Indonesian government's strategy in achieving the Net Zero Emission target in 2060.
In line with the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 to reduce carbon emissions in various business aspects, including products and technology. In Indonesia, Toyota has introduced product electrification since 2009 and the choice of products and technologies continues to grow.
Until now, TAM in total through Toyota and Lexus has 14 choices of electrification products, with Hybrid EV technology, Plug-In Hybrid EV and Battery EV. For more than a decade of marketing electrification products, TAM managed to record total sales of 7,021 units so far this year.
The many choices of electrification technology provided by Toyota aim to enable people to choose electrified vehicles that suit their needs and lifestyle in mobility. So that all members of society can participate in reducing carbon emissions by using environmentally friendly technologies.
"The All New bZ4X is the pioneer of Toyota's Battery EV as well as completing the line of electrification vehicles in Indonesia, which consist of Hybrid EV, Plug-In Hybrid EV and Battery EV technology," said Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Henry Tanoto.
"With this, customers are free to choose Toyota electrification vehicles that suit their individual needs. So that it opens up opportunities for all to be able to reduce carbon emissions when carrying out their mobility with environmentally friendly vehicle technology from Toyota," he continued.
Safe, Comfortable, and Zero Emission Mobility with the All New bZ4X
The All New bZ4X is built on the basis of the e-TNGA Platform which is a refinement of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). However, optimized, and for Electric Vehicle Batteries.

"By using the e-TNGA platform, the bZ4X battery can be integrated into the chassis so that it is safe from all sides," said Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Anton Jimmi Suwandy.
"The water cooling system that integrates with the car air conditioning system is used to use the battery temperature after extensive use to maintain battery performance and safety," he continued. Going inside, the interior theme of the bZ4X is comfort and spaciousness which gives it a cabin-style living room atmosphere.
Combined with the largest 12.3-inch touch screen in a Toyota car with a navigation menu along with full connectivity features to smartphones. First for electric cars in Indonesia, there is also the Advanced Park feature which is designed to assist the driver when parallel parking or without the need to move the steering wheel to start backwards.
As a sophisticated car, the All New bZ4X utilizes the most advanced active safety features to protect drivers and other road users, namely Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0. T Intouch advanced telematics features are also embedded. Namely technology that connects users and cars with various Toyota mobility services through mTOYOTA.
