Jeep has finally introduced its newest compact SUV with battery electric vehicle (BEV) status, the Jeep Avenger EV. This electric SUV was introduced to coincide with 4Xe Day.
At the event, Jeep also introduced three other electrification products. First there's the Jeep Recon, a full-electric offroader inspired by the Rubicon, then there's the Wagoneer "S" and Wagoneer SUV that will be introduced in America in 2024.
For the Jeep Avenger EV, it will not be sold in America, but will target the European market from 2023. A more complete introduction will take place at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022.
The Avenger EV is Jeep's first product to use the STLA Stellantis base. In addition, this Electric SUV is also the first step for Jeep to achieve its target of 100 percent electric product lines in Europe by 2030.
Although it has compact dimensions, the Avenger EV also has good off-road capabilities. It can be seen from the high ground clearance and good break-over angle. Reportedly, the Avenger EV will have a cruising range of 400 km.
It is also offered in two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, depending on the choice of a single 94 TK electric motor or a pair (rear-mounted).
In addition, there will also be a hybrid version that will look identical to the Avenger EV. Then, this tiny SUV will be produced in Tychy, Poland along with Alfa Romeo and Fiat SUVs.
Antonella Bruno, Head of Jeep Europe Stellantis said, "The Avenger offers Jeep capabilities that are right for the European market.
"The Jeep Avenger EV is suitable for customers who are looking for a vehicle that is reliable, compact, modern, and can be an alternative to other existing cars," he said.
Jeep has not announced the official price of the Avenger EV. But buyers in Europe can already order from October 17, 2022 where the Avenger EV is introduced at the Paris Motor Show.
