Entering its 30th year, in September 2021, the Peugeot 106 will enter a new phase. Peugeot 106 will enter the category of collector car "youngtimer" (young classic car).
The first time the Peugeot 106 was launched on September 12, 1991. At that time, the small city car category dominated the European market. Even this Peugeot 106 dominates a third of the small city car category.
Even for the French region, this category is up to 40 percent of vehicle registrations. Peugeot 106 is Peugeot's answer to meet the needs and become a trend at that time.
This car was first produced with a 3-door configuration, then in 1992 a 5-door version. Then continue to be launched the next generation to survive and marketed Peugeot until 2003 ago.
However, there is something special about the Peugeot 106 on offer. It turns out that Peugeot has an electric version of the 106 model and has been on the market since the mid-90s. Sales of this type are able to touch the figure of 3,500 units worldwide.
For your information, most of the customers are company fleets. As a result, this gives Peugeot as the world record holder as the largest seller of electric cars until 2010. This confirms Peugeot is a brand that is very thinking about the future, even from a few decades ago.
The Peugeot 106 Electric is powered by a Nickel-cadium battery that produces 127Nm of torque and 27 HP of power. The resulting mileage is 80 KM for a full charge using a 13 ampere socket which is carried out for 6 hours.
In its 30th anniversary, the Peugeot Aventure Museum located in Sochaux, France will exhibit various models and types of the Peugeot 106 series, namely: 106 Rallye Italian version (1994), 106 XSI (1992), 106 Signature (1995), 106 S16 ( 1997), 106 Efant Terrible (2002), 106 Maxi (1997), 106 Electric (1996), and a prototype namely 106 Cabriolet (1992).
