Honda Introduces Gen6 All New Honda CR-V in the United States

– Honda introduces for the first time in the world the sixth generation of the All New Honda CR-V in the United States which comes with two engine variants namely; turbo engine and also HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle). The All New Honda CR-V sixth generation will go on sale in the United States in the summer of 2022.

The All New Honda CR-V now comes with an increasingly premium appearance, more enjoyable driving performance, and also more powerful engine performance as well as fuel efficiency.

Especially for the All New Honda CR-V, the HEV variant will begin production and sale in the fall of 2022 in the United States. This variant is expected to contribute 50% of the total sales of the latest generation of the All New Honda CR-V.

All New Honda CR-V sixth generation comes with new technology and features such as; Retuned Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control, Hill Descent Control, Snow driving mode, next gen front airbags, new standard knee and rear passenger side-impact airbags, Honda Sensing® which comes with a new wide-view camera and radar, new Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Low-Speed ​​Braking Control and Traffic Sign Recognition system (TSR).

Meanwhile, in terms of comfort, the sixth generation All New Honda CR-V has a larger cabin space and cargo space than the previous generation. All New Honda CR-V sixth generation also comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen audio system (for EX & EX-L variants).

Meanwhile, the HEV variant now uses a 9-inch touchscreen audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™, Qi-compatible 15W wireless smartphone charging and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.

All New Honda CR-V sixth generation is offered in four variants namely EX, EX-L, Sport and Sport Touring. For the All New CR-V type EX and EX-L variants, it uses a 1.5 liter turbocharged inline 4 cylinder engine capable of producing a maximum power of 190 HP at 6,000 rpm engine speed.

Meanwhile, the All New CR-V Sport and Sport Touring type uses an engine capacity of 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder combined with two hybrid system motors (two motor hybrid system) capable of producing a maximum power of 204 HP.

The All New Honda CR-V sixth generation EX & EX-L type uses a CVT transmission which is now equipped with Step-Shift programming technology that can make gearshifts more pronounced when driving. Meanwhile, the Sport and Sport Touring types use a two-motor hybrid transmission system.

In addition, Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control System™ also gets improvements in terms of traction management on various slippery road conditions such as snow or muddy.

The All New Honda CR-V also features a choice of driving modes; ECON, Normal and Snow for EX & EX-L types then ECON, Normal, Snow and Sport for Sport and Sport Touring types.

Mike Kistemaker, Assistant Vice President of Honda sales at American Honda Motor said “As the best selling SUV model for the past 25 years, the Honda CR-V has played a very important role for Honda in America.

Now in this sixth generation Honda CR-V, we also really hope that this model will play an important role again where the HEV variant is expected to contribute 50% of the total sales of this model.”

The sixth generation All New Honda CR-V was produced at the East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, the Indiana Auto Plant, and Honda of Canada Mfg., Honda started producing the Honda CR-V in North America from 2006 until now where it has sold more than of the five million Honda CR-V units in North America.
